Taxfix , Europe’s leading mobile tax platform, today announced the acquisition of the Stuttgart start-up  Steuerbot , which successfully sells a chat-based  tax app in Germany. With this step, Taxfix is further expanding its market leadership in this area and accelerating its expansion in the German market. After the completion of the takeover,  Steuerbot will be  continued as a subsidiary of Taxfix AG. Both companies will continue to offer their products independently and complementarily in the future in order to better meet customer needs.

With over five million downloads in Germany, Italy and Spain, Taxfix is Europe’s leading mobile tax platform. The fintech recently reached the milestone of over two billion euros in tax refunds for its customers.

“With the takeover of  Steuerbot  , we are combining the two strongest and most popular mobile control solutions under one roof. Steuerbot’s  strong development in recent years is very impressive. With the amazing talents in both teams, we see tremendous opportunities to benefit from each other’s immense experience, insights and skills,”  says Martin Ott, CEO of Taxfix. “By joining forces, we can offer unmatched value to a larger number of customers and accelerate our growth together over the long term. This is an important step in our mission to help more people take the fear out of taxes and finance and get back the money they deserve – which is more important than ever in today’s world.”

The strong customer focus, a central common denominator that is deeply rooted in the DNA of both companies, remains an absolute priority after the merger. Both companies have a strong track record of growth and have continuously expanded their market shares. Steuerbot  was founded in 2017 and today has 18 employees. The chat-based mobile  tax app is particularly appreciated for its ease of use and high level of user-friendliness – this is confirmed by the top ratings in the App Store with an average of 4.9 out of 5 stars. After the takeover , Steuerbot  will be continued by the founders and managing directors Marc Neumann and Jochen Schöllig.

“The merger is an extraordinary opportunity for  Steuerbot  and Taxfix: our companies share the common goal of bringing more social justice into the German tax system and reducing fears,”  says Jochen Schöllig, co-founder of  Steuerbot . “Together with my co-founder Marc Neumann, we are extremely proud of what the  Steuerbot team has achieved in the B2C tax solutions market over the past few years. We have known the Taxfix founders and management team for years and our companies share the same understanding of values. For us it is simply clear that together we can achieve more and are stronger. We are already looking forward to working with the Taxfix team.”

Taxfix is continuously expanding its product portfolio to serve even more customer needs. The next big innovation is the “Expert Service” offer, which allows users to have their tax return completely prepared by a tax consultant – easily, quickly and carefree.
