Ross AhlgrenRoss Ahlgren – General Partner
Ross has 25 years of management and finance experience. Ross joined Kreos in 1998, and has been a major contributor in creating Kreos's market space in Europe and building Kreos as the leading player in the pan-European market. Ross focuses on identifying, assessing and managing UK transactions as well as participating in the management and execution of Kreos's overall strategy.
Prior to joining Kreos, Ross spent 10 years in a number of roles within American International Group (AIG) including a period as Vice President of Operations for AIG Europe focusing on developing marketing strategies for 14 countries, building small country operations and coordinating new products and alternative distribution channels. He began working directly with the CEO on a project to build an Executive Information System, and later transitioned into a variety of roles, including: internal consulting, management development and the launch and divestment of a software company within AIG. Ross was selected to move from New York to Paris to be part of an AIG senior management team that turned around a European operation, restructured its core operations and grew it into a profitable $1bn+ operation.
Prior to joining AIG, Ross spent two years on the team that built American Airlines' yield management systems. The innovation developed by this team was widely emulated by other airlines and is now an integral part of running many diverse businesses in addition to the airlines industry.
Ross joined American Airlines from Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned an MBA. Previously, in undergraduate school, he was part of a team at the University of Texas Business School that pioneered research into successful high-growth companies. This led to him publishing several papers in the academic press and to his early adoption of entrepreneurial coursework at the University of Texas. He earned a BA in Business from the University of Texas.

Maurizio Petit BonMaurizio PetitBon – General Partner
Over the past 30+ years, Maurizio has built a career as manager, advisor, entrepreneur and investor in a wide variety of high-growth companies. Maurizio has worked and lived in several European countries and in the US.
Maurizio joined Kreos Capital and in 1998 and for the past 12 years has focused on identifying, assessing and managing continental European and life science transactions as well as participating in the management and execution of Kreos's overall strategy.
Before joining Kreos, Maurizio was Managing Partner of PMA Europe, London, a consulting partnership focused on assisting private equity firms and corporate clients in evaluating investment opportunities in technology companies.
Prior to that, Maurizio was Principal Consultant at SRI International, in Menlo Park, CA and London, where he led numerous international consulting projects for US, European and Japanese clients in the electrical, electronics and telecommunications industries. While at SRI, Maurizio advised the UK Government in the evaluation, selection and award of the first two cellular licences in the UK.
Prior to SRI, Maurizio was Director International Operations at ACDC Electronics, a division of Emerson Electric, San Diego, CA. In this role, Maurizio was responsible for supervising ACDC's off-shore manufacturing and all international sales.
Before that, Maurizio was Business Development Director Europe for Emerson Electric Corp. From his base in Brussels, Belgium and working directly for Emerson's Corporate VP International, Maurizio was responsible for acquisitions, joint ventures and market entry in Europe and the Middle East for several of Emerson's US-based divisions.
Prior to Emerson, Maurizio was with Digital Equipment Corp.(DEC) in Milan where he was responsible for building the Olivetti account into DEC's largest European OEM customer.
Maurizio started his professional career in the Financial Planning and Control group at Rank Xerox International HQ in London, working for Mr. Paul Allaire, who became Xerox's CEO and Chairman. Maurizio later joined Xerox's European Advanced Products Marketing group as Product Manager.
Maurizio holds a Doctor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rome, Italy and a Master in Business Administration from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. Maurizio is fluent in English, French and Italian.

Raoul SteinRaoul Stein – General Partner
Raoul joined Kreos in 1999 and over the last 12 years has built a highly active presence as the leading senior credit provider to high-growth companies in Israel, as well as supporting a wide range of transactions across Europe. Mr. Stein also plays a key role in the management and execution of Kreos's overall strategy.
Before joining Kreos, Raoul was an associate with Apax Partners in Israel where he invested in services and high-growth technology businesses and corporate spin-offs. He also assisted the general partners in fund-related activities such as divestment of their funds' successes traded on NASDAQ, and in general fund-raising activities such as portfolio analysis, reporting and due diligence for the purpose of raising new funds.
Prior to joining Apax Partners, Raoul was an associate with Friedman , Turbidy & Co, a New York-based financial advisory firm. Raoul assisted the managing partner in several refinancing and acquisition transactions. He was involved in a refinancing of asset-backed loans with a large glass maker in the US, representing the company in its efforts to refinance its debt with banking institutions. In addition he was involved in fund-raising for a US based cosmetics company in its expansion.
Raoul studied law at Bar-Ilan University. He clerked at the firm of M. Porath & Co in Tel-Aviv and passed the Bar exams in Israel in 1993. After that he graduated in 1995 from Columbia Business School with an MBA.

Mårten VadingMårten Vading – General Partner
Mårten has 20 years of financial industry experience ranging from direct equity and debt investment to risk and investment management. He has experience working in very large financial institutions and consulting businesses as well as entrepreneurial environments.
Mårten joined Kreos in 2000 and has built a strong presence for Kreos as the market-leader in the Nordic region. He has also executed a number of transactions in the UK, Ireland and Germany and supports the portfolio throughout Europe as well as plays a key role in the management and execution of Kreos's overall strategy.
Mårten previously worked for a number of years as a Director at UBS Warburg's investment banking arm, where he was responsible for equity research in the Nordic region. His coverage ranged from large companies, like Ericsson and Nokia, to smaller high growth companies - in total representing about one third of the listed Nordic market cap during this period. Mr. Vading was ranked first in Reuters 1999 European SmallCap survey, and the UBS Warburg's global sector teams in his industry sectors were continuously top ranked.
Prior to UBS, Mårten was a Management Consultant at Ernst & Young International in the Nordic region, where he worked with large multi-national corporate clients, advising on interest and currency risk management, asset and liability management, fund management and cash management as well as investor relations.
Mårten had also previously started up an investment company and worked on the Board level of several Swedish companies.
During his business school studies, Mårten also worked at Cologne Re (General Re), where he was responsible for accounting of the Nordic re-insurance sales company. Mårten holds an M.Sc. from the Stockholm School of Economics and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a dual major in (i) Finance and (ii) Financial Control & Planning.

Luca ColciagoLuca Colciago – General Partner
Luca joined Kreos as a Partner in 2007 and is focused on executing transactions in the UK and continental Europe as well as participating in the management and execution of overall Kreos strategy. He has 18 years experience in finance including the last nine years in high-growth company lending. Luca has worked and lived in several European countries and in the USA.
Prior to joining Kreos, Luca was a Director at Noble Group, where he led numerous hybrid credit/equity transactions for high-growth companies in continental Europe. While at Noble, he established the firm's presence in continental Europe and built a significant network of equity sponsors. Luca led numerous transactions in the UK and Europe spanning a wide range of sectors.
Before joining Noble, Luca was an Associate Director with GATX Capital in San Francisco and London. He was involved in financing both life-science and information technology growth companies and gained experience in the acquisition and disposal of asset backed structures.
Previously, Luca was part of the founding team of a fund management company in Zurich, Switzerland. Luca started his career in Luxembourg at Republic National Bank of New York on the proprietary desk focusing on the currency market closely working with the Chief Portfolio Manager.
Luca has a degree in Business and Economics from Universita' Bocconi in Milan, Italy, and he also studied International Relations at ISPI. In addition, Luca holds an MBA from HEC School of Management, France, and the International Management Programme of New York University's Stern Graduate Business School. Luca is fluent in English, French and Italian.

Simon HirtzelSimon Hirtzel, General Partner and Chief Operating Officer
Simon joined Kreos in 2007 as Chief Operating Officer. He is focused on providing deal-level support to Kreos's growing portfolio companies, on managing Kreos's international operations, and participating in the management and execution of overall Kreos strategy. Simon manages Kreos's portfolio and finance operations team of 8 core team members all with accounting and management backgrounds (including key members who have been with Kreos for more than 5 years).
Simon has 22 years of management and financial experience.
Prior to joining Kreos, Simon was Group Chief Financial Officer of the PA Consulting Group, a $500m consulting business with 3,500 staff engaged in 37 countries worldwide. As Group CFO he played a central part in the international growth and success of its programme of corporate technology spin-offs and in the management of its global consulting operations.
Before PA, Simon worked in professional services. He worked with Arthur Andersen in London and Frankfurt, providing consultancy services to financial and commercial clients on international financing transactions.
Simon has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Simon is fluent in English, German and French.
