Soundcloud¬†is taking steps to empower its users and help them monetize their music with SoundCloud Premier – a digital distribution service that uploads a user’s original music posted on SoundCloud to other streaming platforms such as¬†Spotify, YouTube Music,¬†Apple Music, Amazon Music, Instagram and more so producers to get paid for their streams.

While most digital distribution services take a cut, SoundCloud has promised that its users will keep 100 per cent of their distribution royalties and 100 per cent of their rights for no additional cost. Streamlined payouts for plays on all these various streaming platforms will be sent to users directly from SoundCloud.

To take advantage of this latest offering, SoundCloud must first determine which of its users are “eligible creators” – meaning they are18 or older, have at least 1,000 monetizable track plays, no copyright strikes and create original music that uses no copyrighted material or unauthorized samples.

The service, which is currently in beta, will be made available for its SoundCloud Pro and SoundCloud Pro Unlimited users. A¬†subscription¬†for Pro and Pro Unlimited currently costs $6 and $12 a month respectively. Those with an account who are identified by the platform as “eligible creators” will receive an e-mail about the service in the next few weeks.

Back in October of 2018, Soundcloud announced that all SoundCloud Go+ subscribers will soon be able to stream SoundCloud’s catalog directly into various kinds of DJ software.
